Bio

Something magical happens when the first notes of Folsom Prison Blues are heard, and Jimmie begins, "I hear the train a comin'...." That's when you know how much folks still love Johnny Cash. The audience experience what they would have during an actual Johnny Cash concert or show of the past.

These shows are fun filled customized events with the best of Johnny & June and MORE! Authentic in sight sound and spirit, their tributes start off with a BANG, with their FULL Ring of Fire band performing a selection of Johnny's greatest hits. Then fade to black; we are back in the 1950's, experiencing it again, or for the first time, the sights and sounds of the Tennessee Two with Jimmie Ray & his Vegas Two. As it was with Johnny, soon a drummer is added to the mix, then other key players as the show grows in excitement. By the time Cyndi enters as June Carter the audience is on the edge of their seat. Jimmie Ray and Cyndi perform their crowd pleasing, "We got married in a fever...." and then move into a series of songs and antics that move the audience back in time. Through their Rockabilly days, their courting days - the 1960's, 70's, 80's, 90's up to and including Johnny's last written and recorded song, Like the 309.

MOST of their shows are laced with cameo appearances of some of their old friends (depending on venue and budget), i.e. Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Minnie Pearl and more. Then a finale that brings audiences to their feet. Audiences hold Jimmie Ray & Cyndi's Tribute Shows in high esteem as they are taken back to a time of fond memories; both musically and emotionally.

Jimmie Ray & Cyndi
have developed the most exciting show of their career, A Tribute to the Life and Legend of Johnny Cash & June Carter; fitting them to a tee. The perfect show for many venues. Plus encore shows like Johnny Cash & Friends, Johnny Cash Unplugged and the newer shows, In Remembrance and more.

Married and singing together since 1994, Jimmie & Cyndi have appeared as a duo, with one of their bands, or as special guest with other great bands, in a variety of venues: Festivals, Fairs, Community Events, Corporate & Private events, Clubs, Casinos, Radio, Television, the world famous Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, Several Perfoming Arts Centers; The Suncoast Showroom, Jerry's Nugget, The Imperial Palace, Deep Rock Drive, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Starbright Theater, Freedom Hall, Stations Casinos, AVI Resort, Charleston Heights Art Center and many more!

There is just something folks love about the music of Johnny & June and these heartfelt tributes - it is the GRASS ROOTS music of the common man - people of ALL ages. Jimmie Ray & Cyndi's fun filled customized Tribute Shows are available with the full band as a Theatre Show, or for corporate or special event.

An optional crowd pleasing, motion raising and entertaining multi- media presentation is available as part of the show; enhancing the shows experience. Each of their shows are customized to make YOUR event a success - even assisting in promotion and marketing where/when/as needed.

Jimmie Ray was born and raised in the shadows of the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, then Arkansas, Tennessee, California, Oregon, Texas and now Nevada; an entertianer since the age of 16; actor; screenwriter; years with the railroad; motivationalist; a corporate executive; songwriter and a published novelist – Mittie’s Song - a story of one womans courage; click here to see more about "Mittie's Song" at Amazon.com & to read the reviews.

Jimmie's diversified background shines through in his writing, music and performance – audiences know he has been there. He lead several groups over the years: Folk, Rockabilly, Gospel, Bluegrass, American Roots. He spent five years in the 70's touring 25 states, with over 1,000 appearances. In so many ways Jimmie relates with Johnny Cash. This Tribute was created purely from his heart.

Cyndi Cantrell A California girl with family roots in Louisiana, being a PK (preachers kid), Cyndi was raised on Old Style Country and Country Gospel Music. In their shows, duo to full band, Cyndi performs as June Carter, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and her favorite, Minnie Pearl. Working with various groups over the years has seen Cyndi's stage presence has grown to that of a seasoned entertainer. Cyndi also plays harmonica. She especially enjoys their duets - from Johnny & June to their original music. In addition to being known for her costume changes, Cyndi has an unbelievable sense of humor, timing, unreal character voices and loves bantering with Jimmie on stage. She loves to see people laugh.

Tom Flagg looks and sounds so much like Willie Nelson that it give ones the "willies." In addition to appearances within most shows as Willie, in charachter he does duets with both Cyndi's various chara
