Bio

Johnny Chase is from the St Louis area and was born into a musical family. His mother was a piano teacher and his father was an avid saxophone player. Jon first learned the piano, then later took up an interest in drums. Johnny played the drums throughout his school age years both in the school band and in a local band. It was after high school that he developed his true passion when he taught himself to play the guitar, sing, and to write music.

Johnny Chase is a stage name he came up with to honor and to remember 2 very special people in his life. His son Chase, who passed away at 2 years old in a tragic car accident and his producer Johnny Pierce, who passed shortly after they had finished the pre-production portion of “801 Days”. His real name is Jon Schniepp, so changing to Johnny was not a stretch.

The CD “801 Days” is a rock CD that was recorded at Cedar House Production Studios in Nashville, TN. Cedar House is a studio who specializes in developing new artists and has many Grammy nominated artists in many different genres as well as many TV and Movie credits. Jim Emrich of Cedar House is one of the best engineers in the business who ended up not only engineering, but also producing and performing on “801 Days”.

Johnny’s debut album as a singer is “801 Days”. He also wrote and recorded songs for the band Astralflight which featured his sister Sarah on lead vocals. They were able to get their original songs on the radio at many of the St. Louis radio stations, on TV a few times as well as some live performance videos. Astralflight was actually the band that kicked off the River’s Home Grown Show aired in St. Louis for 5 years. Johnny has also just begun to write commercial jingles and has credits in that area as well.

The songs and the lyrics on “801 Days” are very personal to Johnny. He began writing the songs as an outlet to get through a very difficult time in his life. However, the songs hold a good message and a great energy that can also be applied to everyone. The title “801 Days” is very simple to explain – it is the number of days that his son Chase was alive. It is simply a reminder to him of how short life is and when you really want something… you have to go for it and don’t wait until tomorrow because tomorrow may never come. 801 Days doesn’t seem like a long time to most people, but for his son it was a lifetime……….his entire lifetime.
