Bio
Born and raised in the Mississippi Delta country, Johnny C. Lately spent most of his adult life roaming the hills and plains of Texas where he currently makes his home. A regular player on the Northeast Texas music scene since the late 1970s, he has performed in bars, restaurants, wineries, and music festivals, both solo and with accompaniment.
Johnny was a member of the folk-rock band Diamonds in the Rough during the mid 70s and in 1980, began performing with The 3 Bobs, an experimental acoustic group, in the Dallas area.
Teamed up with Diamond Jack Holdsworth in 2008, he was the winner of the Paris, Texas "Blues Challenge" in the Duo Category.
Johnny C. Lately plays solo now and has been busy songwriting. He had a CD released in 2013 by Upright Beaver Music and he has a second CD in the works.
