Johnny Fever

First thing's first. The name, well let's see how Dr.Fever became Dr. Fever, let's say that our Canadian friends/my Canadian relatives don't know much about middle america, specifically Cincinnati, Ohio. I have done a full circle to this point, with high school and college with Pap's side of the family hailing from beautiful Cincy, OH. After deciding against staying in the bumbling metropolis that is downtown uptight republicanesque Cincinnati, I ventured to a spot north of the 49th to rekindle my 1/2 Canadian roots with Mom and sis, and upon the spawning of my DJ career and search for the name of all names, I was lucky enough to be surrounded by a group of canucks with little knowledge of the doings in and around Cincinnati. However, they did have common knowledge of a little show we all know as WKRP in Cincinnati, quick of the long, I was jamming at 5 a.m. at a house party, still DJ NAMELESS, when back to the party from a run to the store pops through the door a group with excitement like 10 year old kids. "Yo man, we came up with your DJ name, you're DR. JOHNNY FEVER!!!"

And so it was, onto a flyer, pressed on CDs and into the history of VANCOUVER, B.C. Which was the most recent stop before locating here and almost rhyming I will make it all clear.....

I will say this before the rest of my BIO, what sets me apart and makes me real, is my true and deep faith in the music and belief that in spreading my tunes I am gathering people and changing lives. I take it all to heart and still have a BLAST while doing it. I have played all over the Northwest and I can say for a fact I am the ONLY DJ that plays 40+ hours a week.

Today, Johnny's musical vision remains true to form: funky, 'beat-full,' rooted in soul. From tech house, to chunky big room basslines, to techy forward thinking breaks, and onto his signature driving progressive sound, ...sounds that create from one brain to another can be heard in the music of Johnny Fever. And whether playing for friends or strangers, the energy of a self-proclaimed "fan" of all genres is apparent in each and everyone of his sets. Johnny's journey has roots in Seattle, Wash.; Cincinnati, Ohio [WKRP, hence the name] and Vancouver, Canada. Being in the right place at the right time has introduced him to some of Vancouver and the worlds' most elite DJs, providing him with lasting friendships, and offering him the opportunities to play and get into the studio with world-renowned DJs and producers.

Johnny has always been surrounded with solid musical knowledge and seeks the best in his own presentation. Teaming with excellent company in the Intimate/Cheeky, Club Productions, and Friktion Solutions crews, Johnny learned the business of promoting, paid the dues of setting up and hosting parties, and along the way developed his unique skills behind the decks. A lot can be said of a person by those around him and in this case Johnny's credentials speak for themselves, as he has played along side the likes of Kevin Yost, Jay-J, Sean Cusick, Lee Burridge, Force Mass Motion, Dylan Rhymes, Chris Fortier, Hybrid, Max Graham, Mark Lewis, Luke Fair, Paranoid Jack, Phil K, Aldrin, Jay Tripwire and Marques Wyatt, The Scumfrog, John 'OO' Fleming, DJ Rap, BT, Junkie XL & Chus and Ceballos.

Johnny has also embarked on work in the studio and has received acclaim from the likes of DJ Ali, Nicky Delgado and Powerplant. Keep your eye out in 2007 for the first pieces in the Fever Collection. Mr. Fever was also the guest of Horus Mexico in March of 2003, playing a private mansion party for 1,000 guests and playing for his good friend Jorge Navarro @ Level in Leon, Mexico.

Most recently, Johnny has relocated to Seattle, Wa. were he has teamed with Excellent company, including some local heroes, MB, Miguel Alvarado, Bryce (See Sound Lounge), and many others. He has formed an entertainment company SpyEvents.com, and taken various residences in and around Seattle, including See Sound Lounge(nominated for Best Lounge Nationwide), while at the same time continuing his partnership with the Dons of Vancouver, Nicky Delgado and Tyler Lewis @ Believe- The Red Room. Johnny continues to push his sound forward taking on many different endeavors that you soon will know well. An integral part of Progressive Entertainment and Volume Fridays @ The Lotus Sound Lounge for two years prior, the world class music destination hosted many amazing events at a 100-year-old venue steeped in electronic music history.
