"What LA thinks of JPRB"

Looking like suicidal maniacs attending The Running of The Bulls, Johnny Plastic and the rubber band is as vibrant aesthetically as they are in their music. “We take our music very seriously, but we don’t take ourselves very seriously,” is the way they portray themselves, and I get the sense that this is what makes them so much fun to watch. In a world where being a rock star has certain duties and attitudes to live up to, Johnny Plastic is strangely comfortable with being “normal,” which is setting them apart from the competition.

These guys are in it because of their passion and the drive to create something new. This is proven by the fact that the album they have released (and produced all on their own) is something they give away. That’s right: musicians who care enough about producing a quality product for the masses that they aren’t concerned about price. They say it’s on a donation basis and that they have received up to $20 for an album.

These young men are on an adventure: “An epic journey where God spoke and said, “Let there be new music!” How true. It would seem they are a breath of fresh air with a down-to-earth sense of humor, an almost charitable approach to selling music, and a chic sense of style, Johnny Plastic is reminding us of what music is supposed to be: fun.

Their song Stych is just that. It’s a way to “get up” with pumped melodic progressions and a vocal sound that encourages singing along. If you like crooning to Weezer, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, or The Presidents of the United States of America, than this band is something you don’t want to miss- and you can’t, cause they’re always wearing bright red suits!

"Plastic, Rubber Bands, And Good Ol' Fashion Rock"

If your morning cup of tea consists of a shot of funky funky music then I have found the perfect source of non-fattening funk. Of course I am just kidding about the tea part but not about the Funk. There exists a band that throws funk, rock, and a bit of complete craziness into a rather red blender mixes it up and then throws it all over the crowd.

That band is Johnny Plastic and the Rubber Band. About a year ago this trio formed for the purpose of delivering great music straigt to your ears. If someone where to ask the old cliche' question "Well what do they sound like" I would answer "they don't." JPRB have a unique sound all of their own. Influences cited on the JPRB myspace list The Chili Peppers, Weezer, and the like.

I would definitely recommend JPRB to any diehard Chili Peppers fan. JPRB Incorporates many different styles to form their own signature brand of rock. They sound like everything you like and nothing you don't. The music is taken very seriously but the guys themselves are in the least a bunch of nuts. They wear the trademark red suit then get onstage and unleash a barrage of great music.

So get to it check them out give them a listen and then comment in the area below.

We were recently reviewed by an independent music site in California. He nailed it on the head. He writes:
