Johnny Sanford is a singer-songwriter currently living in Brooklyn, New York. In the vain of Bright Eyes, Jack Johnson and Iron & Wine, his music flirts with notions of desire, love, and sometimes the darker sides of the ego. Johnny also plays in a five-piece band as singer in Solis, an alt-rock band that has played numberous venues in and around Albany, New York. He is also one-half of the acoustic duo thebignothing, which has played such notable venues as The Bitter End, Bar 169, The Red Lion in Manhattan. He has also played the Living Room Lounge in Brooklyn on multiple occasions.
The demo included is all original copyrighted material. Johnny is a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, piano, keyboard, bass, harmonica, and synth on each of these recordings. Originally only a vocalist, he picked up the guitar at age 16 and hasn't put it down since. Now 24, his ability to create melodic, unique pop music is something even he cannot explain except that it comes naturally. Steadily building a fanbase in New York City over the past year, he has frequently brought venues like the Bitter End to full capacity.
Now, Johnny is becoming bigger than ever. He is currently looking for a booking agent and manager to bring his music career to new heights. Please listen to the songs included with this press kit, and remember that most of the recording were done in a day or so. They were done on a digital 8 track and are very similar to his live show.
