"Johnny's Landing"

Young and Fresh Talent from The Hague! Johnny’s Landing performed at The Music In My Head Festival earlier this year as well as with the Five O’Clock Heroes. And rightly so because the with a powerful and mature voice blessed singer/ guitarist Dominique van Dijkhuizen knows together with Taco Fens (drums) and Jimmy van Dijk (bass) how to construct pert songs with a British sound – although the New York music scene seems to have been of influence as well. This trio combines frayed yet sharp songs with subtle and jazzy songs. The first song on the EP Right of Way is sharp and catchy, while last song How to be Good sounds more dark and subtle. Send this band on the road with The Noisettes and The Hague will be put on the map as the new place to be.
- Live XS (Music Magazine)

With influences like PJ Harvey, the Strokes, Razorlight, Sonic Youth, The Beatles, the Jam, Patti Smith, The Smiths, Blondie, the Police, Chick Corea, Steely Dan and many more, the band wants to make decent Rock'n'Roll. That includes: no stagediving or heavy smoking-machines. Hard work, to begin with, to get everyones attention in 2007. And it seems to be working.
- 3VOOR12, VPRO

Johnny's Landing once again put on a great show. (...) They've definitely grown.
- 3VOOR12, VPRO, Music In My Head Review

The 6th edition of The Music In My Head was very well attended, but most of the performances didn't live up to the expectations. Most of the bands were decent. Not more than that. Johnny's Landing however, a band from The Hague, enchanted with an intelligent new wave-sound.

Bio

We've been together for a small year but we've played with the likes of Five O'Clock Heroes, 1990s and Razorlight. How do we do it?
