32 year old JohnPaul is no stranger to live performances and has been building a name up for himself in Liverpool, Chester and the North-West for many years.

Born in Cheshire and educated in Digital Music in Brighton University and now living in Liverpool, JohnPaul's influences started before he could remember with his father being a sound engineer for Liverpool's CityFM Radio station.

"I remember hearing music before people talking to me" JohnPaul said, "Every house we (our family) grew up in had my Dads Hi-Fi system pumping out Genesis, Many Blues artists, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Boston, and then my Mums radio and tape player playing Cliff Richard and the shadows.. thanks Mum! hehe."

Playing his "Live Loop" setup and his songs being compared to David Gray, Ed Sheeran and KT Tunstall with a voice like Rob Swire (Pendulum), taking influences from these artists and mixing them with influences like Beardyman, Dub FX and Rico Loop, it is a setup for a VERY interesting evening.

"I started writing what I like to call "Feeling Songs"... and I guess I've never stopped, but with my Dad being a sound engineer there was always cool equipment lying around the house. I had been in many band playing keyboards, guitar and singing but when I saw what tape delays and then loop machines could offer a single artist, I started to mess around with adapting my own songs. I can still play my songs without the loops and effects and they are still strong which is good if the batteries for the effects ever run out! hehe"

Using only a Guitar, his voice and his array of pedals, (pre-dominantly a Loopstation) this 21st century "one man band" seems to possess that delicate talent of grabbing the audience and getting them to listen and stare as he builds up tracks from nothing into vocal beats and massive choirs or full songs. But that talent is only half of JohnPaul's music. The other is ability to paint a picture in your head, telling his stories within his songs with great articulation and detail.

These are the kind of songs that have won JohnPaul international song competitions, won JohnPaul music gear and money but more importantly, the kind of songs you will be humming on the way home.. and for the next three days! Infectious music that has been well rehearsed and well polished. Just a great artist and a fab act!
