Borrowed Shoes

Written By: John Glass

BORROWED SHOES

VERSE:

You walk the streets where nobody goes, you've seen things that nobody knows

I've watched you suffer and endure such pain

I wish I could shelter you from the wind and the rain

BRIDGE: So mistreated and used, we've been shot down strung out and abused

So mistreated and used, we've been shutdown strung out and abused but...

CHORUS:

Your like an angel who's wings have been spread

but you have no place to lay down your sweet head

Your like an angel no truer words have been said

You aint no fuckin movie star, just got dreams runnin through your head

Running through your head (x3)

VERSE:

You walk up to her with a pocket full of cash

she say hi my name is Candy can I take your hate

You think nothing of it and she subdues

If she had another choice right then, then she

she wouldn't be walking in borrowed shoes

BRIDGE--->

CHORUS--->

VERSE:

Her momma wasn't there when she needed her the most

Her daddy wasn't there just an echoe of his ghost

To young to know right from wrong

Been living in her head for far too long

BRIDGE---->

CHORUS----->

MUSICAL BREAK

VERSE:

If someone had of been there to help her out

Then maybe she wouldn't be lien in a gutter down south

Holding on to her last ten seconds of life

Wishing she could go back and change evrything at eleven

In one damn night

BRIDGE--->

END CHORUS---> Running through your head (x3) OUT

LESLIE
By John Glass
VERSE
She says I'm a live one, I'll give you anyone, be anything you need me to be
Well I can be there, when you need me, just tell me what I should do

BRIDGE
No I can't just can't, No I just can't leave it up to you

CHORUS
You need to let it go, you need to let it go, cuz I can't give you that much
You gotta let it go, just gotta let it go, then it won't hurt so much

VERSE
I don't know the next verse, I don't know the next line
You don't know the reason, why I try
It's to keep you from the next verse,
it's to keep me from the last line
In the hopes that you'll still be here, waiting until the end of time

CHORUS
You gotta let it go, just gotta let it go, cuz I can't give you that much
Gotta let it go, I hear if you let it go, then it won't hurt so much

VERSE
I heard they closed the store, cuz you weren't there no more
Someone's lied to me, said you were dead
But I can still hear you, I can still feel you
Just get, out of my head

CHORUS
I need to let you go, just gotta let you go, cuz I can't give you that much
I gotta let you go, O honey gotta let you go, then it won't hurt so much
I gotta let you go, just gotta let you go, cuz I can't give you that much
I gotta let you go, O honey gotta let you go, then it won't hurt so much

TAG
No it won't hurt so much
