We need more dope posse cuts, J Shiltz and his friends all put their best flows forward and come pretty correct. Toronto stand up. - The Tapedeck

"J Shiltz - What I Stand For (Album Download)"

Here’s the album download from MC, J Shiltz. To be honest I only heard of his music in 2011 and immediately knew the guy is a problem and beast on the mic. This album has features from Notlam, Grimace Love, Spek-Won, Rishaard, Illa J, Brendan Philip, Nish Rawks, Wio-K, Junia-T & Frank Nitt. That’s a serious line-up! Can’t forget production from heavyweights; Lancecape, Twizzmatic, Kev Brown, Rich Kidd, Junia-T & Crook. All cuts on the album are done b DJ Docta. All in all I put this on my top 10 albums to come out of Canada for 2011. Every track is fire from start to end and J Shiltz really goes in. - PunjayCan

"J Shiltz – Ridin’ Out ft. SonReal (Prod. by Rich Kidd)"

Sooooo…. between the awesome-ness that was Watch the Throne (more album cuts woulda been nice, but the show was dope nonetheless), and the phenomenal being that is known as PRINCE just two days later (I don’t care if he’s over 50 – his face is still like butter. He could get it…just sayin’), I FINALLY got the chance to go through my email and saw some of the goodies I missed in between all the madness of last week.

One was from J Shiltz, who I met for the first time last year. Teaming up with SonReal (VanCity) and Rich Kidd (Mr. Midas) on the beats, Shiltz brings you “Ridin’ Out”. I already have a love for SonReal based off “Already There” with Soxx and Rich Kidd (the breakdown near the end where he rides the beat change is hip hop bliss), so when I saw that Shiltz teamed up with both of them, I was already sold.

With a bass that can easily blow out the speakers in my ride, a heavy head-nod synth and a hook that stays with you long after the song is done, I hope DJs can give this one the love it deserves on the airwaves…. Check it out for yourself: - DJ Mel Boogie

"#SOTD | J Shiltz – Gimme That Flow Pt. 2 ft. Nish Raawks, Wio-K & Junia-T [Audio/Video]"

"New Heatery: J Shiltz x MC FÜBB x Wordsworth - Take Notice"

(Toronto, ON) - Take Notice. Up and coming Toronto hip hop emcees J Shiltz and MC FÜBB (The Cypher, Hip Hop Headz/H3) and NYC veteranWordsworth (eMC) have come together over a banging instrumental by Juno-nominated producer Fresh Kils and collaborator Bix. With cuts courtesy of Halifax DJ Uncle Fester (The Extremities), listeners can expect a metaphorical massacre of brilliant lyrics, an awe-inspiring display of flows, and distinct deliveries from these three masterful microphone controllers.
It’s become an almost cliché complaint of hip hop music lovers that the rap scene is saturated with a plethora of artists, making it hard to find real talent amidst the mire of unexceptional music that is released. With Take Notice, J Shiltz, MC FÜBB, and Wordsworth are making it clear that they have the skills necessary to stand out and excel in the rap industry (and demanding that those who aren’t up to par quit rapping). Hip hop heads everywhere need to Take Notice - this year they will get the music they deserve.
