Bio

After many years of performing at clubs, bars, festivals, coffee shops, and bonfires in over twenty countries all over the world, John now focuses on touring from the beaches of his native Southern California to the northern high-country of Colorado. His love of being on the waves and in the mountains helps motivate him to travel a couple thousand miles every few months to perform his music for new audiences and to basque in his passion for the great outdoors. His years of living out of a backpack as he traveled the globe writing and sharing his music made him eventually desire a slightly more stable home - so he moved onto a sailboat for 4 years and wrote and performed his tunes as he sailed all over the western Pacific from Los Angeles to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. John now resides in San Clemente under a proper roof which has enabled him to release three original albums which are available at his shows and on his website which boasts well over 1,000 visitors each month. His combination of powerful vocals, big guitar, and inventive harmonica playing flow together "like a steam-pouring freight train off it's tracks and running wild!" John Sotter is a real, hard-working musical hero for lovers of real music and real life. Hope for a better world where kindness and compassion rule is what drives the Acoustic Warrior to seek out his ever-growing fan-base. Insulted by the crappy music being force-fed to the youth over the radio airwaves, Sotter has emerged as a rustic alternative to corporate pop and the "trust-fund children of discontent" being glorifired by MTV today. His passionate stage presence and musical mastery make him a welcome site on any stage - he's an entertainer and a warrior for peace, love, and real music from the heart. For the past couple years, Sotter has been making regular appearances at the (550-person capacity) world famous Coach House Theatre in southern California as both an opening act for major national acts (such as Tim Reynolds of the Dave Mathews Band and Drew Emmitt of Leftover Salmon) AND as a headliner. Fans say his shows are "soulful," "edgy," and "refreshing." Battling apathy, hatred, heartlessness, and environmental destruction, John Sotter is an Acoustic Warrior. Rebellious, yet polished and directed, his energetic earthy acoustical folk rock screams out, touches the heart, and envigorates the soul.
