JohnStone has been unleashing its conscious roots reggae vibes in the DC area for several years now.

With an arsenal of crucial roots-influenced original compositions, complemented by tasteful covers, the band is well-equipped to handle venues of all sorts.

JohnStone has a timeless approach to music, combining a powerful lyrical message with haunting Roots rhythms, occasionally peppered with frenzied, bouncy Ska and Rocksteady originals and covers that keep the crowd moving all night long. Having performed together in various formations over the years, the players have a keen sense of each other’s style and are able to compliment the works of one another. All members of the band are songwriters, but are most often led by the unstoppable lyrical deliveries of lead singer Andre Nicholas.
