"Letting Go" - This self-produced release (2000 EON Records) is alone justification enough for starting a label, packed with fine songwriting and outstanding melodic pop-rock performances, bolstered by powerful guitar work from Jeff LaBansky, and solid drumming from Greg Williams (Sheryl Crow) and Eric Singer (Kiss). Find out what only the Portland cognoscente have known about since the CD was released last year.

"Ideology" - Singer/songwriter John Thayer’s album “Ideology” (2011 EON Records) is appropriately titled and properly executed. A full course meal, the record is a blend of political and social views peppered with insight on love. Thayer‘s vocals - with driving undertones - grip the listener for an emotional journey through hope, humanity and life’s lessons and losses.

As a follow up to Thayer’s first release “Letting Go” (2000, EON Records), “Ideology” proves that Thayer has done just that and started a new musical chapter – with a bit more bite but whose pop-inflicted melodies still go down smooth. “Ideology” is about a fresh start, right here, right now.

John Thayer has made music his avocation while owning and managing two successful business products companies. After growing his first company into the largest independent supplies and furniture dealer in the N.W. Region, the business was sold to U.S. Office Products in 1996. His second company was founded in 2001, and has grown into one of the largest independent office product dealers on the West Coast with sales offices in Portland and San Francisco. John has continued to nurture his passion for music over the past ten years becoming a dedicated singer and composer while writing and producing his own library of songs.

A Portland, Oregon native, Thayer owns and operates EON records with his brother Tommy, lead-guitarist of KISS. If you like The Beatles, Coldplay, Lifehouse, Keane and The Dan Reed Network, you’ll love John Thayer.
