"Go See THE BLEEDING TREE!"

(Review of John Weaver the Bleeding Tree) ". . . a family based power trio with mountain roots back to the Blackfoot Indians and Irish Settlers. John Weaver belts out a mix of soulful country and old rock covers and some of his own catchy tunes while he picks out his rhythms on a warm Martin. Leo Devinney is the former phenom lead guitarist for Shades of Gray and shows the same impressive control and skill now on the bass, but has been known to please his old crowd by giving us a lead solo on that big 5 string . . . “ Doug Allen

Bio

After spending his early life in the DC/Baltimore area, listening to the sounds current rock bands, John and his family relocated to rural western North Carolina. There he was immersed into his large extended family’s musical traditions of acoustic instruments and Appalachian Mountain folk songs. It was culture shock on many levels, and finding his own place took a while. Without losing his love of classic rock, John's music appreciation and tastes grew to include the sounds of his country and mountain heritage, creating a very unusual combination of significant musical influences.
