Bio

Jomo Lyles-Belton was born in Columbia, South Carolina before moving to Atlantic City as a young child. He thrived in the city where his father taught him to play basketball and he went on to lead the Atlantic City Vikings for four years. A member of the school's 1000-Point Club and the Cape-Atlantic League all-stars, Jomo was considered one of the top high school guards in New Jersey. At North Carolina Central - Durham, an NCAA Division 2 basketball program, Belton would once again be in the spotlight. His performance earned him a spot on the CIAA conference all-star team. Upon graduating without the prospect of being drafted in the NBA, Jomo was ready to settle down in Durham before his father alerted him of an opening as an Atlantic City Firefighter. Jomo scored fourth-highest on the qualifying tests which were administered to over one thousand prospective firefighters.

In addition to working full-time as a fireman, Jomo wanted to be a businessman in the world of Hip-Hop. He partnered up with a man trying to promote concerts. When he failed to appear at a show Jomo had set with him, Jo knew the only way to succeed in the industry was by doing it himself so he began rapping. Jomo had always rapped with his friends while growing up but never thought about a serious music career until now.

Jomo met William ?WhiteKeys? Harding at the rehearsal for an independent film, Rise By Sin . Jomo was set to to record a couple of songs for the soundtrack but it was eventually cancelled due to the film's overrun budget. Jomo and Keys decided to work together regardless of what happened with the film. WhiteKeys became Jomo's creative and business partner after working so well together in the studio creating their first single, 'It's Serious.' After putting a few songs together they came up with an idea for an LP they independently released in 2003, "America's Playground.? This learning experience fueled Jomo to reach his full potential as an artist and go all the way with his talent.

Jomo-n-Keys released two mixtapes that created a lot of buzz locally, helping the independent sales for 'America's Playground.' Jomo went on to do local shows and private parties giving out and selling as many CDs as possible. While getting in as many performances as he could, Jomo got his music played on a few radio stations helping the Jomo-n-Keys website (Jomo-n-Keys.com) receive more than 50,000 hits in less than a year. Jomo was content with selling his music on his own, but now he feels it is time to pursue a more professional and successful music career.

Jomo-N-Keys Entertainment released two MixTapes which did very well in the local area and are still currently selling on line. Jomo has recently released a full promotional campaign for his single titled 'What I Want' and is doing EXCELLENT on radio right now. We have more than 6,000 spins on radio as of date across the USA alone.
