Jomo aka Joel Newman – Is his music Jazz? Blues? Rock? Funk? Or Singer Songwriter?? Mainly he wishes he didn’t have to choose one or the other . .
‘Has an eclectic musical background. Part Journeyman part original artist is probably spreading himself too thin, casting a wide net he’s performed with musical giants such as T.M. Stevens, Dr. John, Miroslav Vitious, Dick Wagner and David Sanborn, and others.
He’s been on countless stages in the NYC area and across the Mid Atlantic region. Even as far away as Taipei, Taiwan. He co-wrote and recorded with Tim Curry, (of ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ fame…); A&M records, produced by Michael Kamen.
Bohemian, with a positive message of love, Jomo really just wants to groove and rock. Adept at the acoustic thing, but really into Jamming with the band. In order to back himself up, Jomo has a deep pool of excellent musical talent to draw from.
