Bio
Jon has been playing world percussion for over 25 years. He trained in Indian tabla in UK with Harjinder Singh Matharu (Indo Jazz Fusions) and in India with Shivanand Bhandari (Naadashree Arts Institute, Kumta, Karnataka) and with Kailash Nishad in Varanasi.
Jon is well known in the UK world music scene through his solo Drumscapes performances. He also performs with Sitar & Tabla duo Samswara.
Jon has performed at many of the UK's major World Music events & Cultural festivals, including WOMAD, Musicport, Glastonbury, Cardiff Mela, Glasgow Mela and Belfast Mela. Jon has also given two performances at TED events, bringing his work to a global audience.
