Jonathan Carr is a singer/songwriter from Glasgow, Scotland currently studying at the Berklee College of Music. He began music from a young age, learning from his father, an accomplished pipe organist and music teacher. At the age of 17 he was awarded a scholarship to study at Berklee in Boston, USA. In October 2008 he collaborated with grammy award winner John Mayer on his original song 'The Jokes On Me'. John played guitar on the track as well as producing it which was a wonderful experience for all involved. Jonathan has said it was difficult finding the right mix of musicians for his band but it was well worth the wait as the chemistry between them is incredible. They are all wonderful performers and carry with them a great blend of musicality and humility. Jonathan has built up a solid and loyal fanbase in the short time he has been performing with his band. His music has created a buzz around the east coast as well as his home country of Scotland and he is hoping to spread his songs even further afield.
Jonathan said: "A lot of the inspiration for my songs comes from being away from home. My lyrics are very honest and personal which makes people react to the songs emotionally, be it happy or sad. I think I can connect with people through my music which is a wonderful feeling. It is my ambition to get as many people as possible to listen to my music, it's all I've ever wanted to do."
