"Colleyville Resident, Musician, Shows What It's All About"

Colleyville resident Jonathan Fox performed foot-stomping music at GrapeFest this past Thursday afternoon. "It was awesome," Fox said. "It went pretty well - especially the time of day. We had a pretty good crowd for that time."
Fox, a 17-year-old Colleyville Heritage High School senior, was at GrapeFest promoting his recently recorded What It's All About album.
While he has been playing guitar since he was 10, Fox has been actively performing for the past year, he said.
The five-song album, which Fox describes as a mixture between country and rock, is the result of winning the Kellerfest Battle of the Bands in June, he said. It is the second album that Fox has recorded.
What It's All About, the album's title track, he the most meaning for Fox.
"It's the best one I've written. It's got like the best rhythm," he said. "It's pretty personal, about a certain someone."
Fox's country music influence is evident in the upbeat vocals, driving acoustic rhythm guitar and personal imagery in songs like Home Sweet Home and Hell of a Way. A drummer and lead guitarist accompany his.

Bio

Growing up in the suburbs of North Central Texas in the small city of Colleyville, Jonathan took an immediate interest in music of all different genres. He took up singing at an early age and would perform anytime someone would listen. At age10, he picked up an old guitar and immediately took an interest in playing it. For several years, Jonathan took part in many different rock bands in which he wrote most of the material himself but was unable find others who shared his passion. After turning16, his attraction to country music began to grow as well as his views as a soloist, in which he would be responsible and held accountable for all of his music. He started to develop his own sound, writing over twenty songs which he has performed at many local venues. He won two competitions which were held at his high school, a solo contest: “The Coffee House Challenge”, and “The Battle of the Bands” where he performed his own original material with a band of 3 others. Jonathan also performed at Kellerfest in Keller, Texas and won the Battle of the Bands competition. He has played in Nashville, Tennessee at local venues which held open mic nights. Other festivals include Grape Fest, Celebrate Roanoke, and many more. He has played in many venues around DFW Texas including The Cavern, The Door, The Aardvark, Adair’s Saloon, The Back Porch Grill and Tavern, Poor David’s Pub, The White Elephant Saloon and many more. Jonathan writes, composes, and directs his band with all original music.
