Biography

At 22 years old, Jonathan Fox has been able to accomplish at his age what countless musicians have sought after and he’s just getting started. Over the past seven years, he has had the opportunity to play at several of Texas’ most famous venues and festivals while continuing to write and record unique and exciting material. He has opened for a number of artists, including The Randy Rogers Band, and is currently in the studio working on his first full length album “Time” to be released in March.

With a myriad of opportunities in front of him as a young man, Fox could not resist the pull of playing music, using his guitar and voice like an artist using different paints from his palette to create something unique, and at an early age he worked his way through the ranks to play at an array of venues including Adair’s Saloon in Deep Ellum where many great artists began their careers (The Dixie Chicks, Jack Ingram). By age 18, Fox had also been invited to perform at the Deep Ellum Arts Festival, Fort Worth’s acclaimed Mayfest, and at GrapeFest in Grapevine, Texas.

With the release of Fox’s EP “How It Should Be” in 2009, his quickly growing repertoire of songs and unparalleled stage appeal, Jonathan was soon asked to open for various acts including The Randy Rogers Band, Lee Brice, and Adam Hood.

In the fall of 2010, Fox opted to move to the Live Music Capital of the World, enroll at The University of Texas, and relocate to Austin. In just over a year, Fox has performed at venues all around the city including Maggie Mae’s, The Parish Room, and The Blind Pig and has been invited to perform at Austin’s Old Pecan St. Festival on Sixth, The Austin Rodeo, and continues to gain recognition throughout the city.

With a voice that resonates with the purity of country and the blues past, Fox, wielding his guitar like a rustic gunslinger, commands a stage presence and unique musicality that brings a certain type of soul that many musicians never fully capture, not only as an artist of performance, but a powerful songwriter with a lyrical balance that is sure to intrigue all listeners.

Lyrics

If You Don't Want Me To

Written By: Jonathan Fox

I’m sitting here in this rocking chair,
Hoping that you might change your mind,
So if you need me I’ll be here,
I’m hoping that you might come to find,

That I ain’t long, long gone, but baby don’t turn off the phone,
Just because I said I was over you,
Cause I don’t know the words to say, I don’t wanna go away,
If you don’t want me to,

It’s starting to poor down rain,
But I can’t find the means to get up,
Cause I don’t know if you’re on your way,
But lately I haven’t had much luck,

Baby I have lost my mind,
Just being without you,
And baby life hasn’t been so kind,
So maybe something ain’t true

Coming Around

Written By: Jonathan Fox

I waited so damn long,
Just to hear you on the telephone,
But don’t go calling me back now,
Cause my jeans are torn,
And my heart is worn,
Baby you didn’t show me how,

So don’t call me now, it’s too late now, the end of the show,
Cuase I’m gone baby and the rest, the rest we’ll never know,
I’m leavin’ town and going down, all the way to the ground,
And I ain’t coming around,

She called me when two months has passed,
Middle of the night after last,
Just begging me to come back home,
Should I turn back for good,
Or go on like I know I should,
Baby maybe I’m not alone,

So don’t call me now, it’s too late now, the end of the show,
Cuase I’m gone baby and the rest, the rest we’ll never know,
I’m leavin’ town and going down, all the way to the ground,
And I ain’t coming around.

Love's Flaws

Written By: Jonathan Fox

Everybody’s got ideas about how it should be,
But if that things love, I wouldn’t take it for free,
It’s in movies and on TV,
But I don’t want that for me,

Cause baby love, love has flaws,
So take me back to where I was,
And I may miss a woman’s touch,
But baby love, love has flaws,

Baby when I met you it was love at first sight,
How did you not know that it would be alright,
But as it turns out I don’t know you at all,
I didn’t get your number or a way to call,

Cause baby love, love has flaws,
So take me back to where I was,
And I may miss a woman’s touch,
But baby love, love has flaws.

Can I Take You Home Tonight

Written By: Jonathan Fox

We went out a couple times, it was nothing too big,
But I can’t say that I didn’t, feel something,
We got to talking, we got to laughing, it was all alright,
Can I take you home tonight?

Can I take you home tonight,
Can I take you home tonight,
When I look into your eyes, I’ve gotta know,
Can I take you home tonight?

I was supposed to take you home, we just drove around,
I’ve been looking for so long, and I can’t believe I’ve found,
I ain’t rushing, to conclusions out of my sight,
Can I take you home tonight?

Can I take you home tonight,
Can I take you home tonight,
When I look into your eyes, I’ve gotta know,
Can I take you home tonight?

I call you up to see if we’re still alright, but you can’t go out tonight,
If you still want to, tell me it’s right or it’s wrong, don’t keep me hanging on,

Can I take you home tonight,
Can I take you home tonight,
When I look into your eyes, I’ve gotta know,
Can I take you home tonight?
