Bio

At 22 years old, Jonathan Fox has been able to accomplish at his age what countless musicians have sought after and he’s just getting started. Over the past seven years, he has had the opportunity to play at several of Texas’ most famous venues and festivals while continuing to write and record unique and exciting material. He has opened for a number of artists, including The Randy Rogers Band, and is currently in the studio working on his first full length album “Time” to be released in March.

With a myriad of opportunities in front of him as a young man, Fox could not resist the pull of playing music, using his guitar and voice like an artist using different paints from his palette to create something unique, and at an early age he worked his way through the ranks to play at an array of venues including Adair’s Saloon in Deep Ellum where many great artists began their careers (The Dixie Chicks, Jack Ingram). By age 18, Fox had also been invited to perform at the Deep Ellum Arts Festival, Fort Worth’s acclaimed Mayfest, and at GrapeFest in Grapevine, Texas.

With the release of Fox’s EP “How It Should Be” in 2009, his quickly growing repertoire of songs and unparalleled stage appeal, Jonathan was soon asked to open for various acts including The Randy Rogers Band, Lee Brice, and Adam Hood.

In the fall of 2010, Fox opted to move to the Live Music Capital of the World, enroll at The University of Texas, and relocate to Austin. In just over a year, Fox has performed at venues all around the city including Maggie Mae’s, The Parish Room, and The Blind Pig and has been invited to perform at Austin’s Old Pecan St. Festival on Sixth, The Austin Rodeo, and continues to gain recognition throughout the city.

With a voice that resonates with the purity of country and the blues past, Fox, wielding his guitar like a rustic gunslinger, commands a stage presence and unique musicality that brings a certain type of soul that many musicians never fully capture, not only as an artist of performance, but a powerful songwriter with a lyrical balance that is sure to intrigue all listeners.
