Bio
Jonathon Boogie Long was born in Baton Rouge, LA on September 15th,1988 to Michael of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Tyronza Long of Greenville,Mississippi.
He was born with the Blues coursing through his veins. He first picked up a Guitar when he was 6 years old and tried to play old Gospel songs due to the fact that he was brought up in a Southern Baptist Community. He started taking lessons at the age of 8 and from there everything just came so naturally.
By the age of 12 he was playing out regularly at local blues clubs and events, and at the age of 14 he got out of school and started touring fulltime playing bass with Henry Turner Jr.
He played on the Louisiana Legends Tour with Henry in 2003, 2004, and 2005, as well as other tours they were a part of in that 3 year period. He has also toured with Chris Duarte, Kenne Wayne and Tyree Neal on the Chitlin Circuit, 2Hipnotic on the college cover band circuit, and is currently playing with Big Luther Kent and his 12 piece Big Band, Trick Bag and performed at Jazzfest in 2008, 2009,2010,and 2011 with that group.
He has shared the stage with artists such as Dr.John, Rockin Dopsie, Monte Montgomery, Lou Marini and Steve Howard of the Blues Brothers Band, Ellis Hall, Kenny Neal, Larry Garner, Henry Gray, Lil Ray Neal, and many others. He currently fronts his 3 piece Blues/Soul band, The Blues Revolution, and plays with Big Luther Kent when time allows. He also plays Bass on staff at Fellowship Church in Zachary, Louisiana. His powerhouse performance, smooth vocals, inspirational songwriting, and monster guitar playing make him a must see
.In 2011 JonathonBoogieLong won the Guitar Center King of the Blues guitar competition for #1 Unsigned Blues Guitarist in America and plans on being a pioneer for Blues music and its roots. Boogies Debut album is coming soon.
