"Steve Westbrook"

As we sing out quite often, we constantly look for great musicians to be in our band. We met Jon Boehm years ago, and upon hearing him play with another band, asked if he would play Bass guitar for us. His musical creativity, professionalism, command of his instrument and excellence were an immediate asset to our group, and improved our live performance immensely. He is also is a consummate studio musician and played bass on several recording sessions with us in Nashville. His abilities are also far above the typical musician of his age. We continue to request his involvement with us when he is available.

Bio

At a very early age Jon was drawn to music. When he was about 12 his father thought it would be a good idea to get him a bass guitar. Little did his dad know that would be the start of a long love affair with the instrument, and the music that he would create with it.
Jon started taking lessons from a teacher who had 20 plus years of experience. After about a year he was able to read music, and started to compose. When Jon started showing his teacher how to play certain things he decided it was time to do things on his own. Then began Jon’s education playing with many different bands, and acts all through middle school and high school.
Out of high school Jon was mentored by a great jazz musician from his hometown of Erie, Pa. He was impressed by Jon’s ability at such a young age, and decided to put him in the bass chair of all his projects. There he was, the only 18 year old playing with seasoned jazz musicians in there fifties.
At about that time Jon started doing studio work for commercials and PBS television broadcasts. Along with that he played with many different acts in Erie and the surrounding area for about 10 years until he moved to Florida in 2004 to study under the renowned bass player Jeff Berlin.
Today Jon lives in Nashville playing with amazing musicians and working in the great studios there. In 2005 he started his own record label, Space Donkey Records so he can release his own music and not just be a hired gun.
Jon is just as excited to play today as he was over 20 years ago when he got his first bass. Jon’s hope is that others can hear that passion when they listen to him play, and inspire other musicians to be great at what they do.
