"Miss Patti's Manayunk Surprise"

Patti LaBelle joined local singer/songwriter Jon DeLise on stage the other night at the Grape Street (4100 Main), where DeLise was performing a showcase in front of some label execs. DeLise wrote "Two Steps Away," from LaBelle's latest album, so she joined him to perform that song. The pair share a producer, the Grammy-nominated David Ivory. DeLise songs can be heard online at myspace.com/jondelise.

"[Jon DeLise] on WMMR's Jaxon's Local Shots III"

Jon DeLise and Tragedy Fails
Back Again

Passionate vocals and acoustic guitar characterize this match up of singer/songwriter with full band sound. Two things separate Jon DeLise and Tragedy Fails from the multitude of other would be singer/songwriters in the Philadelphia area; a fresh sound that includes a string section and some serious backing credentials. DeLise was chosen by Patti Labelle to be featured on her Timeless Journey album; the legend then invited him to accompany her on tour, which ended in Philadelphia at the 2006 Freedom Concert. You know - that huge deal with Elton John last summer on the parkway.

DeLise has also found a niche among the pop punk princesses by making nice with the Starting Line, who helped to make his song Hold On popular among their fans.
Back Again recalls famous '90s acoustic alt rockers such as Tonic and Vertical Horizon. The song is filled with tension, which is heightened by the presence of Russian cellist Sachino Tsinadze.

Bio

"It's a rare occasion, indeed, when a matchless soul rises from among the mayhem of what is the local music scene...especially when you enter into the saturated realm of acoustic artists. Take a fresh, deep breath and introduce yourself to one: Jon DeLise." (Ron Schock, Impact Artist Promotions)

Jon was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia in a family of classical musicians. Surrounded by music his entire life, he is fortunate to be firmly planted in the engineer's seat of this fast-moving train that is his divine calling. Jon's career has skyrocketed over the past few years and it's no wonder why - the piece he's pitching is solid, inspiring and captivating. He wrote, performed and co-produced "Two Steps Away" that was recorded by the legendary Patti Labelle (Island/DefJam) and released as a single on her TIMELESS JOURNEY album...an album that soared to #5 on the Billboard charts (R&B). Jon was personally invited by Labelle on a coast-to-coast tour as featured guitarist, which included live national TV appearances aired on Good Morning America, The Katarina Witt Skating Classics on NBC, The Tony Danza Show (ABC), and ABC's Welcome America July 4th Concert with Sir Elton John in 2005 and again in 2007 with Hall and Oates.

Jon recently had the opportunity to work with Labelle again as he was asked to produce the strings on the remake of her classic "You Are My Friend" on her latest album THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO PATTI LABELLE, which spent over 8 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Gospel Charts.

Additionally, Jon wrote and performed "Hold On" (aka "The Piano Song") for Virgin Records recording artists, The Starting Line. "The Piano Song" became a cult smash hit among The Starting Line fans resulting in Jon's emotion-laden lyrics, guitar/piano tabs, and fan YouTube videos plastered across the internet.

To add to DeLise's quickly growing credentials, FOX Network recently licensed his song, "Two Steps Away", for placement in the hit reality show "So You Think You Can Dance 2008."

Most recently, Jon has teamed with Grammy nominated producer/engineer David Ivory (Silvertide (J Records), Halestorm (Atlantic), Patti Labelle, Erykah Badu, The Roots, etc.) to capture what is his "now."
