Bio

With the release of his new EP, Reasons Like Seasons, University of Dayton grad Jon Dittert has stepped into the solo spotlight. On this recording, Jon takes his refreshing creative vision into his own hands for the first time in an already-notable career as a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Reasons Like Seasons, recorded with Phil Weisenberger, draws on a variety of influences from jazz to country while still maintaining a clear pop sensibility. Much like Norah Jones, Jon's music sounds right at home in a variety of contexts. Jon's live shows feature his warm voice and skilled, confident presence on guitar.

As a solo performer, Jon has shared billing with Emily Strand, winner of the 2004 John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and Beau Bristow, a Nashville singer/songwriter.

As an ensemble member, Jon has played with Grammy winner Graham Breedlove (former SNL trumpeter), Emmy winning producer Eric Suttman, Christian recording artist Sarah Bauer, Michael McKenney, Cheryl McKenney, Bobby Streng, Scott Arrington, Kate McManus, and Dawn DeKrell.

Jon's music has received airplay on Dayton's WUDR 98.1 and Lexington CD 106.3. His song, "Sarah McLachlan" was the 2004 Ohio Finalist for the John Lennon Collegiate Songwriting Contest.
