"Jones Radio - NME"

My new favourite Band, I first heard about them when I was judging BBC radio Berkshire's Play Reading Festival competition, and much of my amour revolves around singer Ian Williams - a man that sounds like Oliver Twists Fagin singing Primal Scream songs. - James Jam

"Live quote - BBC"

They smash away any pretenders with their voluminously honest rants. Effective and loud.

Bio

We are Jones Radio! Not a fad, nor passing trend. But a good Psychedelic band (with small Indie tendencies) bursting with ideas.

We came about on a cold Monday back in October 2005, playing our first gig on the first anniversary of the late great John Peel. We started throwing all sorts of ideas together, creating our early sounds.

Gigging hard and fast and finding our feet in 2006 we found ourselves in all sorts of places. We wrote and recorded our first EP (Dead Air) and released it via our own Label ‘Fat Athlete Recordings’ on Itunes. It did us well and proud gaining us a little piece in ‘that’ music rag and gave us a surprising good amount of air play in Germany.

We released a single (Boneshaker) via the Shifty Disco singles club in March 2007. We were over the moon at this but just at the back of our minds we knew that this was one of the weakest (although the most commercial) songs in our barrel. I mean although we were creating good tunes, our minds were slightly moving off the straight laced Indie thing. Our strength has always been in creating soundscapes and interesting flamboyant movements of mood. Come May 2007, after everything had just about calmed down, we took stock and sat down to write our new EP (Travelling Show) A Psychedelic themed EP on a “Fictional” Travelling Circus (all but the names have been changed) Yes we have still have Indie tendencies but that Synth is really doing the work now!

We have now finished recording The Travelling Show EP with a release due soon under Fat Athlete Records.

We have also just returned from New York City playing at the world famous Knitting Factory , good times.
