Bio

Jon Gamache was born in Wichita Kansas. Under the vast skies of the plains he cut his teeth by playing every instrument he could get his hands on. Through many years of self study he has created a genre unto itself. The non-traditional use of instruments such as the Didgeridoo and the Udu reflect a deep curiosity and appreciation for the different cultures of the world. Matched with conventional instruments and a few specially modified toys, along with a splash of wicked soloing ability, Jon Gamache's loop station show takes its own dynamic shape. Influences ring loudly from guitar greats Michael Hedges, Keller Williams along with Andy McKee, bass masters Les Claypool and Victor Wooten. You can find Jon wielding his infamous "camplifier" (a car battery-powered amplifier pulled by a bicycle) at festivals performing impromptu street jams. He has experimented for years at Wakarusa and the Mulberry Mountain Harvest festival to expose unsuspecting audiences to his unique talents. The experiment is over and now he is taking his act to the stage. He has opened for the likes of "That One Guy" due to his one man band virtuoso status. His underground camplifier street performances continue to stun and surprise unsuspecting festival travelers as his momentum builds and he finds himself on stage more and more. From humble beginnings he will surely be needing a larger sound system as he awakens his audience and continues to push his music to the physical and mental brink.
