Here is a write up on Jonifin Dub.

Natural talents come in many different forms. Our interpretations of music that inspired us as children vary from individual to individual. These statements apply to many. One artist in particular, “Jonifin Dub”, formerly known as Jonifin Marvin Benjamin is a child of late 80’s and early 90’s reggae music. Jonifin’s stepfather was a Reggae DJ who played at many private parties throughout Philadelphia. Many evenings his stepfather would come home from work, turn on his system that consisted of 8 speakers in their home and play the sounds of Dennis Brown, Bob Marley, Garnet Silk, Gregory Issac, Berres Hammond, Shabba Ranks, Super Cat, Tiger, and many others.

Jonifin would sit in the living room of his home and absorb the music, lyrics, and the vibration of all these artists who he now attributes to his natural ability to create the music. He later became drawn to hip hop music through artists such as Kid and Play, Salt and Peppa, Kane, Rakim, Public Emnemy, BDP, and Leaders of the New School (LOTNS).

Today as a professional artist and a continuing student of Hip Hop, Jonifin has 9 years performing experience and has dabbled in different genres of artistry from Poetry to Hip Hop. He has several recording projects under his belt as a former member of Red Identity and founder of Squadzilla, a Philly based hip hop artists network. Jonifin Dub is applying his Jamaican roots and his love of Hip Hop to his sound. His efforts present an innovative sound mixed with nostalgic Reggae song arrangements, and a modern writing style. Add some real Hip Hop and presenting the artist known as ‘Jonifin Dub” aka "King Geoffree".
