"Sweet Whiskey Jesus"

New Jersey acoustic singer/songwriter (and QC friend) Jon Kinsella will bring his folk soul vibe to Marita Cantina tomorrow night in New Brunswick, NJ. The show is hosted by Dylan Michaels of The Acoustic Diner Radio Show and is sure to be a scene. Kinsella will be showcasing songs from his forthcoming, tentatively titled EP, Unwelcome Guest, due this fall - which QC will be showcasing upon release. A version of his “Sweet Whiskey Jesus” was recently part of a Philadelphia Indie Compilation - L Cast Records of Mass Destruction - which you can download in it’s entirety for free here.

"Serving Up Some Cool Vibes"

The beauty of a show like the Acoustic Diner is that Michaels builds the indie playlist like a master chef might put together a five-course dinner. Imagine a chef who heads down to the open-air market to hand pick the ingredients for that night’s menu and you get the idea behind Michael’s two-hour show.

The pairings are well thought out and include tracks from indie artists you might not hear anywhere else, like Monday’s featured artist Andrew Hrya, formerly of the Atlanta-based folk duo Billy Pilgrim, or John Kinsella, a New Jersey singer/songwriter
whose single “Sweet Whiskey Jesus” is one of those hidden, soulful gems that you might hear only if you stumble across it accidently on MySpace or YouTube.

Jon Kinsella

LOCATION: Hamilton, NJ

Born and raised in Bronx, NY, Jon later moved to Trenton NJ where he picked up a guitar, honed his musical skills and wasted no time starting and fronting a three piece punk band. Few months later, they landed studio time with highly sought after songwriter, producer and studio musician Ernie "Mr. Trenton" White to lay down a demo.

Soon after, Jon left for college, began hosting a radio show at his college station and dived into production. Influenced by everything from folk to rap, Jon has returned to his roots to display an array of honest and talented songwriting. (Photo by Dylan Michaels)

"Band Buzz: Jonne Blue"

Jonne Blue is a singer/songwriter from Trenton, NJ. His new album, "Unwelcome Guest", is an eclectic mix of dark, yet beautiful acoustic guitar riffs with vocal melodies ranging from blues, to rock, to hip hop.

Jonne has dabbled and experimented with numerous genres. Early in his career, he fronted a punk band. Blue went on to spending hours with a 4-track recorder freestyling and writing. He even DJ'd at his college radio station. Now he has taken the influence from everything he has done and combined it into one record. His new album "Unwelcome Guest".

His first single is titled "Been Down". It's melodic vocals and intricate chord progressions make for a thought provoking four and a half minutes.

Another featured track, "Set Her Free" was written about the love of another, and how her path happened to turn in a different direction than his own. Blue found the feelings to still be there when his pen touched the paper. "Set Her Free" is a true appreciation for the female mind, body and independent spirit.

"It's vital to connect with the present and understand it for what it truly is: an opportunity to learn and grow from the past, and take another step toward whatever we want most" Blue says. "When you are touched by Love, everyone becomes a poet".

You can find Jonne Blue's new album "Unwelcome Guest" on Itunes, Amazon, and his recording labels online store. You can also get more info on Blue at http://www.jonneblue.com.

Bio

There's no tale of wonder, not too many peaceful days. I've pushed aside what most desire and in every way possible, i'm not the same. I create music to keep me sane. See, when you are touched by Love, everyone becomes a poet and whoever loves much, performs much. When words fail, music speaks and I'm far from weak.

Not sure what else to write about myself, but I try hard to right my wrongs through writing songs. Not for the reason of being remembered long after i'm gone, but to connect with the present. Many lessons i've learned and in turn am able to express. It's what I do best.

I dabble and experiment with numerous genres. Started early fronting a punk band, then spent hours with a 4-track recorder freestyling and writing. Also DJ'd at my college radio station and have done the whole singer/songwriter acoustic thing. That was fun.

I feel I'm at an incredible phase of experimenting and creating, which is why I can't wait for what's in store. Stay tuned. Peace and Love, from one Space Cadet to another.
