I am most pleased to extend a very hearty thank you to the Jon Matheson Band for their superb performance during the 2003 Christmas Angels Broadcast Telethon on Sunday, December 7. We at the show, and from reports from listeners, were blown away at the quality, sound and professionalism of the members of the group. Certainly, it was not hard to see each person takes music seriously and enjoys the profession.
As coordinator of the Show, I can honestly say the group should receive an award for extra support. The weather during Show Day was very uncooperative to the point that many of our acts cancelled. The Jon Matheson band not only performed longer sets than originally requested but they performed during open sets and lent their talents to assist our Organization to raise well over $30,000 to realize the most pledged to any one Christmas Angels Show since we first began this fund raiser in 1977.
With their support we were able to contribute toward a better Christmas for more of our community's children than ever possible in past years.
Again, I wish to thank the members of the Jon Matheson Band for supporting the 2003 Annual Christmas Angels Broadcast / Telethon.

THE JON MATHESON BAND is a three piece versatile act consisting of Jon Matheson (Lead Vocals, Lead Guitars), Jeff Barrett (Bass, Vocals), and Jay Wright (Drums, Vocals). Together they bring years of professional live music experience together to create a solid, polished band that transcend the traditional indie sound and expose a primarily pop/rock sound that hints at a subtle country spirit. They have opened for Dr. Hook, Matt Minglewood, John Gracie and Jon Mullane, and are gaining a strong reputation as a result. With a proven song list of upbeat cover music that is constantly being updated as well as a selection of music from their upcomming CD ("Anywhere/Everywhere") they are described by many as a high energy party band who impress audiences wherever the perform. Picking the favorites from the 60's through to today, THE JON MATHESON BAND has performed all throughout the Maritimes continually building their reputation as an energetic, crowd friendly, live music band with a professional sound that leaves audiences and talent bookers/buyers impressed.
