For the last decade, Jon Nelson has been composing and singing the music he loves. Having performed over 900 concerts for audiences of all ages, his music is heard on radio rotations in the United States and Israel. His original song "Can You Feel It?" charted in several European markets and his CDs are consistent sellers from coast to coast.

A native of New Bedford, MA, Jon graduated from UMASS Amherst, Bridgewater State and Cambridge College, where he received his M.Ed.

As the founder and main composer in the groundbreaking contemporary Jewish band Yom Hadash (The New Day), Jon's unique and interactive performance style, original songs & liturgical settings have become a cornerstone of the genre.

Jon's music has appeared on several nationally distributed compilation CDs (including the recently released "Moment Magazine Music Sampler" which found its way into over 50,000 homes). His heart felt composition "Jerusalem," a song he wrote after first visiting Israel in the mid 1990's, was featured on a promotional DVD used to inspire and involve participants for a national camping movement. Jon has released six CDs, with music that crosses genres and boundaries.

An innovator in his field, Jon is happy to be writing and sharing the music he loves with communities everywhere. He and his family reside in Rhode Island.
