jonny

The 3 members of jonny all have very distinct songwriting styles and it definitely shows; however, it also makes the question "what kind of music do you play" a very difficult one to answer. We haven't decided on an official response, but we usually just say indie-pop/folk/rock! Individually, we are inspired by different motivations/influences (it just depends on what mood we're in) but some examples of the bands/artists that we collectively channel are The Cardigans, Rilo Kiley, Eisley, Travis, Muse, Damien Rice, and Satisfaction.

I don't exactly know what sets jonny apart from other bands because in my humble opinion all bands should be passionate about what they do and the music that they are playing, which is what jonny is all about! Excuse the cheesines, but it's true: The 3 of us aren't really doing much to progress in the music business, but we just like to play music whenever we can! I suppose one apparent thing that sets us apart from other bands is the fact that we're 3 girls from 3 third world countries:)

This is the story of jonny (the short/clean version):
Thanya is from the LA area, Amy is from the OC area and April is from the SD area. We met each other through our mutual love for a certain band (which will remain un-named for the sake of saving our dignities) and the power of the internet! Before officially becoming a band, the 3 girls would just get together at someone's house and "jam", covering Travis songs or Rilo Kiley songs. Then about a year ago, we all decided to become a band and just have fun with it!

Fast forward to now and here we are!
