The lyrics are inspired by what I see, hear but also to a large degree by trying to understand what others are feeling. The farmer going through drought who is about to say goodbye to everything he knows, how he feels he has failed his family and is gutted by frustration. The housewife who has a side she never shares with her closest people. The crowd of country music fans at a concert and the high they feel for weeks afterwards.
I guess I'm always trying to express good old fashioned emotion in a new and fresh way with a sense of humour no matter what the subject matter.
