Jonny B & The Blues Blazers is a high-energy harmonica driven pop/blues band whose blend of high-energy harmonica driven music is both unique and refreshing. Since their inception 10 years ago, the band has built a reputation as hard working, dedicated musicians who perform with an intensity that audiences appreciate.
The band has performed & headlined in numerous venues, concert series & festivals throughout the Tri-State area. They were one of only two bands selected to perform in the NYC Dept of Cultural Affairs sponsored event, Culture Fest 2002 held in Bryant Park, and Culture Fest 2003 & 2005, held in Battery Park, NY which was attended by thousands. They have also opened for varied performers including the “Crown Prince of Zydeco” C.J. Chenier & The Red Hot Louisiana Band, folk legend Pete Seeger & The Spyro Gyro All Star Band. Additionally, the band has received a performing arts award from the Staten Island Council for the Arts & Humanities.
The band has been honored to be selected regional semi-finalists & regional finalists 2 years in a row, by the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation, for the 2007 & 2008 International Blues Challenge.
Jonny B & The Blues Blazers have been picking up momentum and enjoy local name recognition and a growing fan following. The band promises to be a crowd pleaser wherever & whenever they perform.
In fact, dancing during one of their performances is a clear indication that everyone, including the band, is having a good time!

Band Member Biography:
Jonny B (Harp/Vocals) - A singer, songwriter, & performer that has been playing harmonica for well over 30 years, Jonny B is known for his unique style of playing that is energetic, exciting & refreshing. Jonny has to his credit one of his original songs recorded by singer; Mike Garrigan with Mick Taylor and Nicky Hopkins (of The Rolling Stones fame) performing on the tune & Cher singing backup on the album. He has played many venues in & around NYC including the renowned clubs; Manny’s Car Wash, Chicago Blues & Wetlands. He has also sat in with some of NY's local legends including Poppa Chubby, Sweet Georgia Brown, the late Bill Simms & Soft Parade. Aside from performing, Jonny has been busy composing & recording original material for the upcoming Jonny B & The Blues Blazers CD.

Jeff Katz (Guitar/Vocals) - Jeff has been part of the foundation of Jonny B & The Blues Blazers since its inception 10 years ago. Jeff began playing piano as a child & then discovered his true passion, the guitar while in his early teens. He has toured & recorded as a member of the pop band Jel. Jeff has also composed & recorded extensively on his own. He now devotes much of his band related time to performing with The Blues Blazers & is co-composing original material for our soon to be released CD.

Moby Medina (Bass/Vocals) - Moby is the newest member of the Blues Blazers. He is an accomplished musician who has strummed around the music scene for years. In 1969, he was signed by ABC records & recorded his 1st album with the band Maximillion (w/Jerry Nolan & Buddy Bowzer of the NY Dolls). He has toured w/Curtis Knight (Jimi Hendrix was a prior member). He then moved London, England playing with popular bands. Since returning to the USA, Moby has performed, toured & recorded with numerous acts.

Jon Specter (Guitar/Vocals) - Jon has played with some of the great legends of blues music, performing with the likes of: Otis Rush, Big Mamma Thorton, Lightning Hopkins, J. B. Hutto, Dr. John, Champion Jack Dupree, Johnny Johnson, The Neville Brothers, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Pinetop Perkins as well as Sam & Dave, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Jaco Pastorious, Poppa Chubby, Buddy Miles and The Chambers Brothers to name a few. Jon joined The Dave Keyes Band in the early 1990's & went on to win The International Blues Challenge title "Best Unsigned Band In the United States" in Memphis, Tenn. for the year 2000. In 1999, he joined the David Johanson Band. He is involved with a number of projects including; The Queen Tipsy Band & The Kosmic Blues Band. Jon Specter joined Jonny B & The Blues Blazers in 2001.

Nat Seeley (Drums/Percussion) – Nat has been involved in music since childhood, having played trumpet at an early age through high school. He has studied drumming with various teachers/performers including: Titos Sampa, Freddie Waits, Charles Persip, Joseph Piazza, Pablo Landrum, Colon Bros., Sam Ulano and John Amira. He has performed with various bands/performers in the U.S. and overseas. Nat is a seasoned musician & has been involved in the music scene for many years. He has played many venues; most recently these include The Karlus Trapp Band, Stapleton Latin Jazz Band, the Waldorf Astoria House Trio, Lonesome Debonaires and The Queen Tipsy Band. We call him the “time machine” because of his impeccable timing and the refreshing & dynamic energy that he brings to the band.
