I am a solo songwriter. I just love to write. I just want to be relateable. I like to spin songs out of the webs I often find myself in, in my life. I empathize with anyone who has ever been in love. I would describe me as fun...honest...and real.

Lyrics

Paper Trail

Written By: Jonathan White

Verse 1: Frozen time in some wooden frames. Stand still moments we won’t get again I, I miss those days. I loved looking at them, couldn’t get enough. Now they’re sitting and collecting dust so I, I took them down. And I took the gasoline and I poured my heart out.
Chorus: I struck a match, lit us up. What we had, is now up in smoke. I, I’m letting go. From the day we met, to our first kiss. Had to do something so that I’d forget what you meant to me and all those memories…are nothing more than ash and dust. This paper trail of love, I’m burning up.
Verse 2: Came across an old rugged note. The one from high school yeah the one you wrote, I, I opened it up. It had hearts in the corner, etched with our names, “always, and forever” It’s, a time to remember, so I, fed it to the fire.
Chorus: I struck a match, lit us up. What we had, is now up in smoke. I, I’m letting go. From the day we met, to our first kiss. Had to do something so that I’d forget, what you meant to me and all those memories…are nothing more than ash and dust. This paper trail of love, I’m burning up.
Bridge: All these, smoke signals going up…remind me of the price of love. All these, tears flowing down, remind me to be cautious the next time around.
Chorus: I struck a match, lit us up. What we had, is now up in smoke. I, I’m letting go. From the day we met, to our first kiss. Had to do something so that I’d forget, what you meant to me and all those memories…are nothing more than ashes and dust. This paper trail of love, I watched it burn.
Ending line: Frozen times in some wooden frames, stand still moments we won’t get again I, I burned those days.
