"Foundation Degree student Jonny Cade prepares international EP releases"

Second year student Jonny Cade (Foundation Degree in Commercial Music Production and Recording) has a string of international new releases on the horizon. The up-and-coming house music producer has been busy in the studio over the past few months with six new EPs due to be released on various labels throughout spring and summer.

Jonny’s latest tracks feature on ‘A Sanguine Lamb’ EP (Loco Records) and will be released on Friday 4 March 2011. The EP already has support from industry heavyweights including Jimpster, Sandy Rivera, Marcin Czubala, Nacho Marco and Sezer Uysal.

His debut production ‘London to Leeds’ EP, a collaboration with deep house rising star ‘Huxely’, was released on vinyl and mp3 last November via Californian label Kolour.

This debut release proved to be Jonny’s catalyst, with the track reaching number 16 in Juno’s deep house charts and gaining the young producer notoriety in the industry as one to watch. A string of requests from four major labels flooded in, all looking to work with the aspiring producer and Jonny has not looked back since.

With a new live project scheduled for spring, which comprises of live and sampled drums, live bass, guitar and vocals mixed with an array of electronic sounds through Ableton Live, and a possible studio album, 2011 is looking prosperous for Jonny Cade.

Jonny became hypnotized by the sounds of house and electronic music at a young age and this led to him taking his first steps towards a career in music.

After studying music technology at West Herts College, achieving three distinctions for his efforts, Jonny took to the road in search of inspiration, travelling in South East Asia where he discovered a multitude of sounds that ultimately providing him with inspiration for his forthcoming productions. On his return, Jonny enrolled at Leeds College of Music where his music career began to gain momentum making a string of important industry contacts and honing his skills as a musician. - Leeds College of Music

I have had several tracks played on Polish national radio and plenty of plays on the internet radio.

After over 16 years playing the drums and 7 years deejaying, I have spent the last year purely concentrating on my production. I began playing in bands from the slender age of 13 and slowly progressed onto electronic music when I got into clubbing at 16. After a bad motorbike accident that left me unable to play the drums for 2 years I took up deejaying and quickly gained myself residencies around the UK. I was only 17!!!

I then attended a music production course at West Herts College where I gained 3 distinctions for my efforts. In order for me to find my feet I took a year out to travel round South East Asia. Here I gained so much inspiration to produce and really push my music. On my return I moved to Leeds to attend Leeds College of Music on the music production degree course.

Since moving to Leeds I have had 3 very successful releases with some of the most renowned labels in house music. Two of which reached the top 20 charts on Beatport and Juno!

I have been involved with so many contrasting genres of music throughout my life that my production is influenced by a large array of sounds. These range from Jazz, House, Breaks, Rock, Soul, funk, blues etc.... But, with my experience on the drums I tend to bass my music heavily around the rhythmic side of things (which seems to be great for dance music).

I have had collaborations with one of UK's finest producers "Huxley" and we are due to have a follow up release later in the year! I also have 4 more EP's set to come out between now and August along with several remixes.

Throughout my life music has always been my main passion, I have done everything I can so far to make sure I pursue my dream of a career in the music industry. Already in 2011 I have managed to land sets with some of the finest DJ's in the industry including Tiefschwarz, Shane Watcha, Julio Bashmore, Julien Chaptel and many more! I now hope to spread my name further afield and play across the world!

I am mostly interested in fusing live sounds with samples and some sequenced concepts. In order to make my live performance unique I do a mixture of mixing on decks, adding samples and live drums/ percussion using Ableton. I am also working on a live album which includes an array of genres. But this will not be complete until 2012.

My main influences are bands and producers like: Bonobo, Four tet, The Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble, D.O.P, Art Department, Burial, Scuba, Eskmo, James Blake, Submotion Orchestra, Cinemtatic Orchestra, Pulbic Lover......This list could go on for ever... But these are some of my favourites!
