Jono Magro

Jono Magro is a professional electronic musician and percussionist who lives in St. Petersburg Florida with his wife and 3 young boys.

When it comes to music production, Jono brings a unique perspective, as he is not confined to the digital world. His style integrates the authentic sound and mind of the acoustic drummer with the complexity of the electronic domain. The result is the organic feel of the human performer united with the rock solid approach of electronic productions.

He began to incorporate electronics in his performances with the sole purpose of being able to practice against an immovable clock. His goal was to play the most natural feeling rhythm with the most unnatural feeling bandmate - his computer. Jono's expertise lies within his keen sense for composition and creating melodies as well as understanding the value in establishing the perfect percussion groove.

In addition to his many hours behind the kit in the recording studio, he has performed drums and percussion with the internationally known dance company Burn The Floor and Kinetix at Busch Gardens, Tampa Florida.

His debut EP "rEVOLVE" is scheduled for release February 2014. rEVOLVE combines Jono's style of heart pounding dance and electronica with his groove oriented 70s style funk drumming. His music pays tribute to a wide range of influences, such as the legendary Herbie Hancock (Head Hunters) and John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) to Daft Punk and The Crystal Method.
