Bio

Jón Tryggvi started at an early age to make music.. He can remember himself as a small child in his bed listening to the radio trying to comprehend how the musicians remembered the forms of their songs. He pondered that for a long while but at the age of seven he was put into the study of Violin. He had asked to play the drums. Around the age of 13 he got the state of the art Encore electric guitar and a Rebel amp which he used to explore the lands of rithm&blues. He attempted to go to music school to master the guitar but the tutor got on his nerves, so he decided to do it by himself. Arrangements and composition got his attention at the age of 15 when he took part in a techno course held in one of the local community centers where he grew up. There he got his hands on a MIDI keyboard and a sequencer. He completely stopped listening to music made by others and worked on his own in the basement of his parents house. .. Around the age of 23 Jón had an acoustic guitar in his hands, brushing the dust of his chords and writing lyrics. He got in a flow with this thing and has kept on writing his blues and folk music but always doing electronic music on the side, mainly for his own amusement. Jón soon realized that he needed to start to listen to music again to learn and gain inspiration. His biggest influences are Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley, Johny Cash, Dire Straits, Neil Young, AIR, Chemical Brothers, Zero 7, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Steve Ray Vaughn, and so many many more. The theme of his lyrics are often human feelings or impulses like Love, Fear, obsession and addiction but always with the message of hope and some kind of joy:)
