Farmers Rock

Written By: Jon Wilson

FARMERS ROCK

Verse:
Way back in the holler there's an old Grange Hall
When October rolls around they hold the Farmer's Ball
They clear the chairs and tables, throw some sawdust down
A country band starts playing then they go to town
Women wearing gingham
Men in overalls
And they dance and they dance and they dance and they dance

Chorus:
They're rocking
They're rocking from their hearts and souls
They're rocking
They're rocking 'til the cows come home
Yea, they're rocking
Those farmers love to rock and roll

Verse:
You can hear the fiddle and the steel guitar
There's good old boys out drinking from their Mason jars
They open up the windows 'cause it gets real hot
There ain't no dosey-doeing or a two step waltz
Revving up their engines
For some rock and roll
And they dance and they dance and they dance and they dance

Chorus:

Repeat 1st Verse:

Chorus:

Yea, they're rocking
Those farmers love to rock and roll

A Woman Like You

Written By: Jon Wilson

A WOMAN LIKE YOU

Verse:
Life's a journey that I travel
Through raging storms and times of trial
And it's lonely on the road out on my own
The road has forks and tempting byways
It's hard to know what way to choose
And I fear I'd wander aimless in this world
Without a woman like you

Chorus:
You're here in my soul
You're here in my heart
I cherish your love
And the woman you are
When I kiss you good night
And the day is all through
I thank the good Lord above
For a woman like you

Verse:
You're my soul mate and and my lover
You bring me joy and sooth my sorrows
And your beauty radiates from deep within
'Til my last breath I'll always love you
Yea, my devotion's strong and true
And there'd be an empty place here in my heart
Without a woman like you

Chorus:

Chorus:(repeat)

I thank the good Lord above
For a woman like you

A Kiss That I'll Never Forget

Written By: Jon Wilson

A KISS THAT I'LL NEVER FORGET

Verse:
We were both seventeen
Out on our second date
Got her home from the movies
So afraid we'd be late
We stood there on her front porch
Where the scene was all set
She looked up as I held her
Then a kiss that I'll never forget

Chorus:
A kiss that I'll never forget
It touched my heart
And it took my breath
A fond treasured memory
I replay in my mind
It was a kiss that I'll never forget

Verse:
It was our wedding day
On a bright day in June
All our friends and our family
A young bride and proud groom
We stood there at the alter
Where the vows were all said
Then I lifted her white veil
For a kiss that I'll never forget

Chorus:

She sat there on our porch
My young daughter was three
I got home from a long day
She ran out to greet me
She told me how she'd missed me
Put her arms 'round my neck
Then she gave me a big hug
And a kiss that I'll never forget

Chorus:

Chorus:repeat

A kiss that I'll never forget

Life Marches On

Written By: Jon Wilson

LIFE MARCHES ON

VERSE:
He made it back home
From his tour of Iraq
Where he lost his left arm
In a roadside attack
And he married his girlfriend
In the church they grew up in
And life marches on
For the brave and the strong

CHORUS:
But some nights he wakes up in a sweat
There’s some hell he won’t ever forget
All the blood and the fighting
The sound of friends dying
He wonders why he made it back
And life marches on
For the brave and the strong

VERSE:
He learned a new trade
Through the local VA
Now he’s got a good job
Moving up to the top
And he’s raising a family
Everyone is proud of him
And life marches on
For the brave and the strong

CHORUS:

VERSE:
The Fourth of July
And the old Stars and Stripes
He stands tall and salutes
Then he breaks down and cries
And his young wife she holds him
And she tries to console him
And life marches on
For the brave and the strong

CHORUS:

Yea, life marches on
For the brave and the strong

No Use Looking Back

Written By: Jon Wilson

NO USE LOOKING BACK

Verse:
I’m moving on down this lonely highway
On the road since I left last Friday
Hoping this cold rain don’t turn to snow
I’m heading west to look for work in Phoenix
Any job at all it would suit me
I’ve been out of work since late last spring
Never thought this could ever happen
Guess the dark clouds must have caught me napping
I’m moving on
No use looking back

Chorus:
No use looking back
To the life I had
I had an uptown woman
And drove a brand new Jag
It was a rock star world
I had it all for sure
Then the market crashed
No use looking back

Verse:
I made a mint building custom houses
Most were sold before they were started
Never thought that gravy train would end
Now all I got is just my F One Fifty
Some rusty tools and my ex wife’s CDs
She took off and pawned her wedding ring
All I lost it’s a painful memory
Hit rock bottom and it damn near killed me
I’m moving on
No use looking back

Chorus:

Bridge:
I’ve spent too much time wondering why
So I’m heading down the road to start a new life

Chorus:

Yea, the market crashed
No use looking back
