Jor DAN

Tulsa Oklahoma's Daniel Anderson and Jordan Westbrook joined forces in May of 2004 to start playing metal, Jor DAN played for about a year as a 2 piece at parks and basements not realizing they would eventually find Ben Kindell and blossom into a 3 piece instrumental metal powerhouse with people constantly asking 'what kind of music is that?' & 'how do you do that?' Ben eventually left jor DAN to pursue other musical endeavors. Clocking in 100's of shows during our current reign we toured the west coast twice (booked all ourselves), shared the stage with JUCIFER, HANDSHAKE MURDERS, THE ESOTERIC, MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT, INTRONAUT, FIGHT AMP & many other notables, and played DENVER FEST in 06' with countless bands most especially AVAIL. We receive a breath of fresh air from progressive metal and grind ie; Cynic, Gorguts, Assuck, & Dillinger Escape Plan as well as from basic jazz rhythms while trying to not be too 'music school' about it. We write music backwards and forwards sometimes bringing guitar riffs to practice only to have Dan completely switch them up to suit his drumming preference and we occasionally write songs based on specific drum beats or a riff that we somehow all manage to start humming all together. As we try not to take our music too seriously we usually surprise our audience with plenty of goofing off and ridiculous stage antics to take a bit of the 'I'm so scary with my long hair and black t-shirt' B.S. out of our live shows. Listening to Jor DAN live or recorded you will usually find a kid really wanting to get into a specific part of the song only for us to crush his or her dreams by completely changing the direction of the song or switching up the guitar to a crystal clean melody that has at times driven the audience insane yearning for more metal and we never disappoint! Hoping to one day receive label support to tour more often and extensively Jor DAN will continue their quest to write the most F*&%ed up, dirty prog metal you've heard or seen!!
