Jordan Burchill

Like the rising and falling of a beautiful melody Jordan Burchill's life has been full of highs and lows. This is reflected in his music. Raised in a musical family with a father and mother who are both professional musicians, he was from the beginning, inescapably surrounded by music and musicians and it was expected that he would sing or play an instrument. Studying guitar with his jazz guitar father from age 8, he developed an affinity for the instrument but when he heard John Mayer at age 12, found his own personal inspiration in music. Immersing himself in the music of Bon Iver, Ray La Montagne, to Jimmy Hendrix, Bob Dylan and Towns Van Zandt he has found musical inspiration.
He currently is in the jazz guitar program at the University of North Texas and has toured and recorded with his own alternative rock/pop band. His original songs have garnered him awards such as winning the John Lennon Battle of the Bands at UNT in 2008 which led to being one of the top 10 under 20 in Texas that same spring. His songs are from the heart and tell the story of a young man starting out in life and learning about life, his own musical journey and love.
