Bio
Inspired by an article featuring Jimmy Buffett, Jordan picked up his father's 50 year old classical guitar in 2001 as part of his New Year's resolution to "pick up chicks in college." For two years he irritated friends and family with morbid songs sung out of tune and out of time. Jordan claims, "the walking bass line remains the only endeavor I never gave up on." After those two years of auditory suffering, Jordan suddenly found his rhythm and found his voice, and then found himself playing for tips and espressos in coffee shops around his college town, Winston Salem, NC. Although his compositions about overcoming, succumbing, and again overcoming drug addiction and alcoholism, fell short of the pantie-dropping lyrical styling of John Mayer, to which he aspired, Jordan gained enough recognition in NC to open for Pat Green and play side stage shows for Dwight Yoakam and Shooter Jennings. He says his greatest accomplishment comes not from his opening acts, but when "someone comes up and says 'your tune gave me a three minute feeling that I wasn't alone.'" In the end, Jordan's raw, aggressive, witty, and charming lyrics coupled with a deep rich vocal styling tell the story of a kid searching for answers to questions of maturation, love, society, substance abuse, and God. More important, every listener can find part of themselves somewhere in his rhymes.
