PAPER FLOWERS

Warm, bright, I know that's how we seem
But we're dead, dry, faded underneath
You hold my hand, take command, spin me round slow
But nothing starts the beating
It’s like our hearts know
We're hopeless romantics
Just hoping for love that won't grow
Folding puh puh puh puh paper flowers
As far as the eye can see
We're folding puh puh puh puh paper flowers
And that just ain't enough for me
Cause I’m dying to live more than the fantasy you're giving me
No one’s to blame
But I can’t stay
Folding puh puh puh puh paper flowers
That’s all they’ll ever be
Pure, planned, but we’re running from the truth
That there’s no life to me and you
I want to be what you need but in your eyes
There’s nothing there to see
No matter how you disguise
We’re hopeless romantics
Just hoping for love
That won't grow
Give me the rain
Give me the thorns
I gotta freeze
To know what’s warm
Under the light
I can see
That picture perfect’s not what I need need

Warning

How could a kiss that seemed so harmless
Go and get me hooked this fast
Thought what we had would be so easy
But the calm just never lasts
With a touch you save me
But just to break me
When you walk out that door
I wish you came with a warning baby
This love is crazy
I’m higher than I've ever known
Till there's only one place to go
When you leave me guessing
A fool obsessing
And just about to hit the ground
That's when you come back around
And around and around
In this storm that we’ve found
That’s just bound to keep pouring
I wish you came with a warning baby
I wish you came with a warning baby
This ain’t no ordinary habit
I could just kick and walk away
Cause everytime I close my eyes I see your face
And every song I hear just screams your name
My name on your lips
Playing like a melody I can’t resist
You know what you do
Every time you’re pulling me back to you
