Bio

Jordani & The Sun Kings officially formed in the Fall of 2016.  After working together in recording sessions and other musical projects, they came together around the melodic songwriting of Jordani Sarreal to add seasonings of soul, gospel, r&b, and jazz.

The members of The Sun Kings include: Benji Demps on drums (Dwele, Tuxedo); Noe Rodriguez on bass (Wale, Dwele, Tuxedo); Max Watters on guitar (Ethan Tucker, Max Trax Beats, Longstride), and Jordani Sarreal on vocals and keys (Stephanie Anne Johnson, Ethan Tucker, Peter Benjamin).

Jordani originally started as an indie pop artist based in Tacoma, Washington.  Growing up on Motown, soul, funk, traditional pop, and sixties & seventies rock, her love for melody quickly developed and she began writing her own songs at an early age.  Throughout her teen years, she won local talent contests in the South Puget Sound area for singing, and continued to write and perform her own songs opening for acts such as The Ventures, The Wailers, and Vicci Martinez.

In 2011, Jordani took time off from performing to focus on writing and producing.  Working out of Pacific Studios, she co-wrote, co-produced, and eventually produced projects and artists, with a genre-crossing portfolio that includes pop, hip-hop, rock, country, and blues.  Still passionate about her own songs, Jordani entered into the music scene again in 2016 with a new sound, new band, and a new album of her own - set to release in the Spring of 2018.

Drawing from her early inspirations, Jordani & The Sun Kings' songwriting blends together elements of Motown, gospel, and jazz through her filter of melodic pop - creating an intentional and unique sound all their own.  Their songs are full of catchy melodies, vulnerable lyrics, and a voice that carries through the softest whisper of a vocal, to powerful soaring notes full of emotion.
