"JORDAN JOHNSON’S DEBUT ALBUM RELEASED NATIONALLY TO TRADITIONAL RETAILERS"

ORLANDO, FL – 01/18/06 – Jordan Johnson’s debut album, “On My Own”, which has sold over 1,000 copies since being released online less than three months ago, shipped nationally to traditional retailers yesterday, including FYE, Sam Goody, and Virgin Megastores.

Having recently opened up for such well-known pop acts as Hilary Duff, The Click 5, Jesse McCartney, Ryan Cabrera, and Aaron Carter, it's easy to see why the industry is buzzing with excitement over Jordan Johnson. As one of the few pop/rock/r&b artists who writes and produces all of his own material, this 18-year-old is well on his way to pop stardom.

Jordan has recently appeared on CBS's "The Early Show" and performed at the International Toy Fair in New York City. He is currently touring the United States, and has been performing and signing autographs in many of the malls and music stores across the country. In addition, a music video for the album's first single, "Leaving It All Behind", is currently in the works.

JayRo Records is currently seeking sponsorship deals for Jordan Johnson. Please send all inquiries to melissa@jayrorecords.com.

Bio

Singers. Songwriters. Producers. A musician that excels in any one of these fields is difficult to come by. Jordan Johnson is among the select few that excels in all three.

Jordan began pursuing a singing career at the age of 14, when he submitted a homemade acappella demo and beat out thousands of hopefuls to be in an Orlando-based boyband. Jordan found himself spending most of his free time attending dance rehearsals, recording sessions, and photoshoots. Although the group seemed to be on the fast-track to success, they disbanded only eight months later when a contractual dispute left them in legal limbo with two seperate companies.

Noticing Jordan's immense dedication to his new craft, well known songwriter/producer Rod Wilson (Gloria Estefan, Take 5, Boyz N Girlz United) asked Jordan to begin co-writing music with him for artists such as B5, D'versity, and Jazé. Jordan also began researching and learning as much as he could about music production from various producers that he befriended during that time.

Finally feeling ready to begin working on a solo music career, Jordan began writing and producing his own material, and released two independent CDs by the time he had turned 16. After touring central Florida and selling an impressive number of CDs for someone so young, Jordan chose to focus again on honing his musical craft.

Utilizing his growing number of music industry contacts, Jordan began writing and co-producing songs with Clay Garrett (Brian McKnight, Take 6, Last Kry), John Buchanan (Status), and Jean T. Na (Az Yet, Jon B., Shanice). After recording a new EP, Jordan was offered the chance to tour the southeast as the opening act for then-unknown group B5.

In October of 2004, Jordan added entrepreneur to his already impressive resumé when he founded his own independent record label, JayRo Records. Through the company, he began writing and producing music for the likes of Xpress, Jaden, Barbara, and Tifany C, and in the spring of 2005, began working on his own debut album as well.

When Jordan was not in the studio, he was busy promoting himself and his company. His most notable appearances during that time include an interview on CBS's "The Early Show" and a performance at the International Toy Fair in New York City.

On October 18, 2005, a limited release of Jordan Johnson's debut album, aptly titled "On My Own", became available online. After selling over 1,000 copies in just under three months, the album shipped nationally to traditional retailers (including FYE, Sam Goody, and Virgin Megastores) on January 17, 2006.

Jordan is currently touring the United States, and has been performing and signing autographs in many of the malls and music stores across the country. In addition, he has had the opportunity to open for artists such as Jesse McCartney, Hilary Duff, Ryan Cabrera, The Click Five, Nick Lachey, The Cheetah Girls, and Aaron Carter.

At the rapid pace that Jordan's career is advancing, it's clear that even bigger and better accomplishments lie ahead for this ambitious young musician.
