Bio

U.K. artist Jordan Saflor has a dynamic vocal ability that matches many great singers past and present and he never ceases to amaze, frequently shining at live performances. Jordan is currently in the process of completing his self-produced debut EP, which showcases a fusion of soul, R&B, pop/dance and electro music styles. Jordan is steadily evolving into a respected figure in his own right, within the music and entertainment industry.

Jordan began singing and playing the piano from the tender age of eight. This fascination with music resulted in him joining the school choir and percussion ensemble, where he received formal training with the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. This subsequently gave him invaluable theoretical music knowledge, as well as opportunities performing at prestigious London venues, including, The Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall.

After studying his A-Levels, Jordan decided to take a year out to focus on music and explore the performance arts further. It was this daring decision that led Jordan to successfully audition for the international musical smash Miss Saigon in London’s West End. In working with the Cameron Mackintosh Company for two years opportunity became rampant and beckoned him to work on other stage and television productions, some of which include: Aladdin (Kings Theatre, Edinburgh), The King & I (Commonwealth Hall, London) and Around The World in Eighty Days (Battersea Arts Centre), and guest appearances on MTV Asia.

It was in 2002 that Jordan became familiar with the intricate environment of the recording studio, when a close friend recommended him to Darin Prindle, an American engineer and producer (Sinead O’Connor, Madonna & Boyz II Men). Darin was so impressed by Jordan’s natural singing and musical abilities that he decided to produce several tracks for him, as well as proposing a unique concept for a group. By 2003, Jordan got together with two friends and The Pills was formed.

The Pills received instant recognition from the music business world. Legally represented by Simpkins Partnership, the group were signed to Nettwerk Management. The group also received strong interest from top management companies in the U.S. including Sanctuary and Sancord Management.

Unfortunately, creative differences led The Pills to split after a year. Jordan soon decided to set up a home studio and continued creating material, as well as performing frequently at open mic nights. Upon realising his newfound love of music production using a Mac and Logic Pro, he decided to return to university to develop the technical skills necessary to pursue a career as a record producer. He also formed the group Kratos Touch, alongside one of the ex-members of The Pills. Kratos Touch continues to collaborate today as a song-writing and production team.

This shrewd, upward step in his musical journey led Jordan to work with other established musicians, including: Mike Collins (Producer and author of Pro-tools for Music Production series, Focal Press); Tah Mac (Artist/producer whose debut album Welcome To Tah-Land under Universal Records featured Mutya Buena, Robin Thicke & Aretha Franklin), where Jordan featured guest vocals on a track, which is due for future release. Additionally, Jordan arranged and produced theme music to the websites stareifyoudare.com, gamblingparlour.com and autoattacker.com.

Jordan’s diverse experiences have enabled him to grow as an artist, and you can be sure that it is only the beginning for this bright young talent.
