Luis Montn ha grabado cinco discos en solitario: Flamenco entre amigos (Aliso Records, 1996), Aroma

Quillolandia (2011). En su extensa discografa
destacan, asimismo, sus discos junto al violinista clsico Ara Malikian, Aroma (Warner Music, 1996) y De la felicidad ( Warner Music, 2005),
galardonado con el Premio de la Msica en el apartado de otras msica, Flamenco Arabe 2 con Hossam Ramzy (Arc Music 2008); Payo Bach (Cozy Time, 2012); Flamenco Etxea (Cozy Time, 2011) junto
al acordeonista Gorka Hermosa y Clavileo
(Cozy Time, 2012) junto con el
guitarrista clsico David Gonzlez. Su gran talento despert el inters de la
discogrfica alemana ECM que grab y present su proyecto, Solo Guitarra, el
2012. Pequeas Memorias (Cozy Time, 2013), Flamenco Kids en el Jalintro (Cozy Time 2014). En preproduccin est Tiritijazz.

Bio
Born in Barcelona in 1962 Jos Luis Montn made his debut as a concert artist there in 1989. His recordings as a leader
include Flamenco entre amigos (1996), Aroma (Auvidis, 1997), Sin querer (2000), De la felicidad (2005), Flamenco Arabe 2 (2006), Flamenco Kids en Quillolandia (2010), Flamenco Etxea (2011), "Clavileo" (2012), "Payo Bach" (2012), "Solo Guitarra" (ECM, 2013), "Pequeas Memorias" (2013).
One of the characteristics of his work has been a willingness to search for points of contact with other disciplines and cultures. Amongst many examples are his Flamenco Arabe project with Egyptian percussionist Hossam Ramzy and collaborations with Lebanese classical violinist Ara Malikian and the flamenco singer Mayte Martn. Montn has also explored the common ground between flamenco and music of the Basque region in work with accordionist Gorka Hermosa, played with singers of flamenco and fado traditions including Misia, Carmen Pars, Mara Berasarte, Mayte Martn, composed music for dance and theatre and much more...
For Montn there is a common denominator running through such projects. When I faced the challenge of doing this Solo Guitarra album, I wondered what it was that touched me the most in an artists work and concluded that it was the quality of sincerity. In this music I have tried to translate that sincerity and love of art which I appreciate so much when I encounter it.
Montns current projects include Clavileo, described as a new way of feeling Spanish Baroque music, tracing rhythmic dances of the Baroque back to Arab origins. He collaborate on a programme of Spanish Songs of the 19th Century with classical guitarist David Gonzlez.
His new projects in progress are JoseLuis Montn Cuarteto, TIRITIJAZZ and FLAMENCO KIDS en el Jalintro.
