Bio
In the winter of 2011, Josef Pollock was created as a pseudonym and collective band name for Isaac Vallentin to play music with friends.
Shortly after the creation of Josef Pollock, Isaac recorded the ‘Fears EP’; a 5 song album of sleepy acoustic-folk melodies paired with introspective lyrics regarding family, friends, southern-Ontario weather, disliking your job, simultaneously loving and hating your romantic life, and the struggles of feeling too old for one’s age.
After moving to Ottawa in fall 2011, Isaac immediately began working on new material and continued to do through the winter, recording songs that were thicker and more distorted than the Fears EP, while still maintaining a sense of hopeful melancholy. After nearly seven months of recording with a single acoustic guitar and a microphone in a small University of Ottawa dormitory, Isaac released ‘Migrate’, his second album under the Josef Pollock name.
Josef Pollock now acts as the collective name for the band, who are currently working on their first LP throughout the winter of 2012/2013.
