Bio
Joseph & Maia, hailing from small beach town, Mount Maunganui, New
Zealand, have been writing and singing together for a little over 18 months.
Their influences range from Paul Simon
and Ben Howard to groups like The Staves and Best Coast, mixing and molding styles and genres into a distinctive
blend of pop and country infused folk songs. The pair signed a recording
contract with Sony NZ at the end of
2012, and have since released their debut EP Roll Up Your Sleeves, gaining momentum in the New Zealand music
scene, touring the country and performing with artists such as Avalanche City, Ginny Blackmore and Rodriguez.
After recently spending a month exploring, writing and busking around Europe, Joseph & Maia have returned home to
record their debut album in 2014.
