Bio
Joseph LeMay is a 24 year-old performing songwriter who has worked and performed with several artists and producers throughout the U.S. including The Civil Wars, Charlie Peacock, and Matthew Perryman Jones.
Joseph and his wife, Molly, live on a 17-acre cattle farm turned bamboo forest in rural west Tennessee just 5 miles from the Mississippi River. After years of living hurried lives in a variety of locales (Nashville; NYC; Alicante, Spain), the two decided to trade in their fast paced way of life for simplicity and storied living. Now, their home is a 1970s Pyramid singlewide trailer where Joseph writes in the company of Shelly, their Catahoula Leopard dog.
Joseph LeMay's debut effort "Seventeen Acres" is a collection of eleven songs written and recorded on LeMay's homestead in rural west Tennessee, just five miles from the Mississippi River. Inspired by sheer isolation and self examination, "Seventeen Acres" reflects the sounds and motifs of the land it was conceived in. LeMay's songwriting has gained him the attention of American Songwriter Magazine and landed him gigs alongside such acts as The Civil Wars and Manchester Orchestra.
